1.1 System requirements

2. System requirements

Espresso 2.5 will come typically pre-installed on your intranet server by an Espresso distributor or consultant. He or she will provide you with a backup copy of the installation files and make arrangements with your system administrator for remote upgrades if required. You will need the following requirements if you would decide to move the installation to a new server. Please contact your Espresso consultant if you need installation scripts and details!

2.1 Hardware (server installation):

Windows:

Processor Intel Pentium II processor or higher
Operating System Microsoft Windows 2003 Web Edition, Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition
Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Datacenter Server, Server (SP3 or higher)
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (SP3 or higher)
Microsoft Windows XP Professional, XP Home
Microsoft Windows Vista

Memory 512 MB RAM, 1Gb recommended
Hard Disk Space 500 MB

Linux (SQL Server should be installed on a separate machine)

Processor Intel Pentium II processor or higher
Operating System Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS & ES 2.1 or 3.0
SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8.x
Memory 512 MB RAM
Hard Disk Space 500 MB

2.2 Software

Espresso 2.5 requires a copy of Adobe Coldfusion MX 6.1 or newer to run (ColdFusion 8.0 preferred). All Espresso 2.5 data is stored in a Microsoft SQL Server (2003, 2005, MSDE or 2005 SQL Server Express) database. Espresso 2.5 is not tied to a certain database platform and can be run with minor changes on a variety of other database servers including Oracle and MySQL. We nevertheless recommend Microsoft SQL Server as the most widely available solution for Espresso 2.5 data storage.

Espresso 2.5 works with most modern browsers on Windows, MacOS X and Linux platforms. We recommend Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or newer.
