2.4 Company settings

Espresso can be easily adapted to accomodate for your local settings.
Click Settings->Company->Local settings to access the Local settings.

1. Set up the default currency. This currency will be used for all reports and margin calculations
2. Set up the default date format
3. Set up the default time format
4. Set up the minimum rate. This is a so called 'company minimum rate'. This setting can be overriden by per-client minimum rate setting. Leave it at 0 (zero) if your company doesn't use minimum rate.
5. Add taxes (i.e. VAT or sales tax). You can add as many tax rates as you like. These rates and names will be used to calculate tax in Invoices.
IMPORTANT! You cannot delete tax rates that are already in use in any project or quote.
5.4.2 Currency
Click Settings->Company->Currencies to access the Currency settings.
Espresso allows you to create quotes, POs and invoices in several currencies. This page allows administrators to enter exchange rates relative to the main company currency. Espresso always uses the latest exchange rate in all calculations. Exchange rate and valutation date are always saved together with every calculation that involves several currencies.
Espresso comes with a set of 10 major currencies pre-installed.
Exchange rates are presented as (for example see picture):
1 USD is equal to 0.83 EUR, exchange rate dated Dec 8 2008.
You can change exchange rates at your own will.
We recommend refreshing exchange rates once a month.
IMPORTANT! Your default currency is marked red.
You cannot edit it once it has been set in Local settings and used in projects.
5.4.3 Default texts
Click Settings->Company->Texts to access the Default Texts menu

Add standard texts to be used in automatically generated documents.
These texts can be updated freely and can be added to any template documents.
You can use basic HTML tags such as <br>,<b>,<i> etcto add formatting.
You can also use dynamic fields from available queries in these fields

IMPORTANT! Please note that some e-mail clients like Microsoft Outlook limit the length of the text that can be passed from a web application to a mail message.
IMPORTANT! Please note that most e-mail clients will ignore HTML tags.
5.4.4 Client Groups
Click Settings->Company->Groups to access the Client Groups page

Espresso allows you to consolidate client records into Client Groups (such as Government, Translation agencies etc).
Client Groups can be used to maintain group-specific pricelists (i.e. separate pricelist for translation agencies or for government agencies you work for). Espresso also allows you to search clients by Client Group and create reports (turnover, margins, WIP, conversions etc) per Client Group.
You can add as many Client Groups and you need.
Unused Client Groups can be freely removed.
5.4.5 Company TM settings
Click Settings->TM to access the TM page.
This page allows you to define the so calles standard TM breakdown.
It defines the per category discount based on TM log analyse and will be applied throughout the application if not specified otherwise.
IMPORTANT! You can specify Client specific rates that will override the default TM breakdown setting in Pricelists (Click Pricelist to access the Pricelist page).
IMPORTANT! You can specify Resource (vendor) specific rates that will override the default TM breakdown setting per each language combination on the Work Details tab in each Resource record. Espresso will help you to calculate discounted rates using the standard TM breakdown if required.
IMPORTANT! You can always elect to use non-standard breakdown and edit discount percentage or rates in Sales when creating a Quote based on TRADOS log.
IMPORTANT! You can always elect to use non-standard breakdown and edit discount percentage or rates in Projects when creating an Assignment based on TRADOS log.
